Land Cruel J73 V8, HJ61 intercooler, HDJ100, FZJ80 superchargered, Corsa 1.2i

"
Snoopy I learned that overall very few manufacturer's make their own kit. The only ones that do are Koni, Rancho, Powerdown and a couple others. Originally I intended to buy Powerdown shock absorbers but my suspension was sagging and getting worse every week and i just couldn't wait until the first batch of Powerdown shocks for my vehicle were produced. Because Powerdown told me that they only produced shocks and not springs i needed to look around for springs anyway.
In my research i narrowed down my choice for [immediate] shocks and springs then to 2 companies Dobinsons and Ironman. What swung it for me was the service and reassurance I got from Kristen in Oz and Jean-Marc in Germany for Ironman. Although one can often read of negative feedback concerning ironman products, these negative comments are never given a true justification as why. So I aksed Ironman why they were getting negative comments and they gave me an answer that i believed was honest. At about the same time I found some positive comments on ironman products from Jeep forums and so.. given all of that and the excellent service i got from ironman i decided to purchase their products.
By comparisson i only came across 2 negative posts regarding dobinson products and both of those negative products i didn't give credence too because i have had positive experiences with de Carbon shocks in the past and because Dobinson shocks are rebadged de Carbon shocks.
On the shocks i felt that a stone mud guard was potentially better than a rubber one and so i felt that the stone guard on the ironman shocks would be better than the rubber ones on Dobinsons, rancho's etc.
I was not happy with main Aussie Rancho dealer for service when enquiring for Rancho products in Oz and so I didn't buy Rancho shocks. However, Rancho make their own shocks and i would be happy to tyr them at some point in the future. On their shocks, through research i learned that Rancho customers were more satisfied with RS9000 jobbies than the RS5000 jobies. More often than not their feedback centered around the RS5000 shocks being more [a bit too] harsh when compared with the RS9000 shocks.
OME are a good quality shock as are TJM XGS however I learned they were just rebadged shocks and so i didn't want to pay for a brand sticker. Ironman were open about their products being made by someone else, in this case Gabriel, who have received numerous awards for quality, particularly from Toyota which is the brand of 4x4 that i use. I took comfort from this openness.
On the subject of springs, various forums will disagree on who makes what springs but all agree that with the exception of buyin a 'dobinson', 'Caroll's' or 'king' all other branded springs tend to be made [in the main] buy one of these two companies. Ironman's springs are made by JSW. From my perspective, so long as the springs are produced using good quality ol' Aussie steel then i didn't care who made them. What was important to me was the fact that I didn't have asian made springs as reports I had come across suggested that the asian steel wasn't as good quality as the Aussie steel.
As for progessive vs. linear springs i most applications would be one or the other. However, so long as you have an application that is right for your vehicle, given your needs, then the advantages of one type over another are really down to markting hype.
I hope this helps for now. If anyone needs any further help or clarification then post a question or send me a PM and i'll go into more detail then. I'm conscious of this email getting too long.

Re: Amortyzatory do LJ70
